JAD Accounting & Bookkeeping Services

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using JAD Bookkeeping services (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. These terms apply to all services including bookkeeping, tax preparation, accounting services, payroll management, ASIC agent services, and NDIS plan management.

Description of Service

JAD Bookkeeping provides professional accounting and bookkeeping services including:

  • • Tax return preparation and lodgement
  • Bookkeeping and financial record maintenance
  • Accounting software setup and support
  • Payroll management and processing
  • ASIC agent services and company compliance
  • Business advisory and consultation services

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services with reasonable notice.

Client Engagement

Service Agreement
  • All services are provided subject to a signed engagement letter or service agreement
  • Scope of work, fees, and deliverables will be clearly outlined in writing
  • Changes to agreed services may incur additional charges
Client Responsibilities

We may disclose your personal information to overseas recipients, including:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and timely financial information
  • Maintain proper records and documentation as required by Australian law
  • Respond promptly to requests for information or clarification
  • Notify us immediately of any material changes to your business or circumstances

Professional Standards

Compliance

We operate in accordance with:

  • Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements
  • Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) regulations
  • Australian Accounting Standards
  • Professional accounting and bookkeeping standards
Professional Indemnity

We maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance coverage for all services provided.

Fees and Payment

Fee Structure
  • Fees are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and may be charged hourly, fixed-rate, or on a retainer basis
  • All fees are exclusive of GST unless otherwise stated

Confidentiality and Privacy

Client Confidentiality
  • We maintain strict confidentiality of all client information
  • Information will only be disclosed with your written consent or as required by law
  • All staff are bound by confidentiality agreements
Privacy Compliance

We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Data Security and Retention

Data Protection
  • We implement appropriate security measures to protect your financial data

  • Cloud-based accounting software is used with industry-standard encryption
  • Regular backups are maintained to prevent data loss
Record Retention
  • Records are retained in accordance with ATO requirements (typically 5 years)
  • Electronic records may be stored securely in cloud-based systems
  • Original documents will be returned upon request

Limitation of Liability

Professional Services
  • Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question
  • We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or punitive damages
Tax and Compliance Matters
  • While we exercise professional care, ultimate responsibility for tax compliance rests with the client
  • We are not liable for penalties or interest arising from late lodgements due to client delays in providing information

Intellectual Property

Work Product
  • Templates, procedures, and methodologies developed by us remain our intellectual property
  • Client-specific reports and financial statements belong to the client
  • We retain the right to use anonymized data for benchmarking and research purposes

Termination

Termination by Client
  • Services may be terminated with 30 days’ written notice
  • All outstanding fees must be paid upon termination
  • We will provide reasonable assistance in transitioning to a new service provider
Termination by JAD Bookkeeping
  • We may terminate services immediately for non-payment or breach of terms
  • We may terminate with 30 days’ notice for any other reason
  • Client files will be provided in an orderly manner upon termination

Dispute Resolution

Initial Resolution

We encourage clients to discuss any concerns directly with us first.

Professional Bodies

Disputes may be referred to relevant professional bodies including:

  • Institute of Public Accountants (IPA)

  • CPA Australia
  • Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ)
Legal Proceedings

Any legal disputes will be governed by the laws of Australia and subject to the jurisdiction of Australian courts.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or system failures.

Amendments

These terms may be updated from time to time. Clients will be notified of material changes via email or through our website.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
